Martina Moore Bio

Martina Moore is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor- Clinical Supervisor. She is the President of Moore Counseling & Mediation Services, Inc. (https://www.moorecounseling.com). This organization provides Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) to area businesses, facilitates counseling sessions, adolescent and adult substance abuse treatment, mediation services, and provides consultation services.

Martina is a visiting professor at John Carroll University. She holds a Ph.D. from Walden University in Counselor Education and Supervision, a Master’s degree from John Carroll University in Community Counseling and Human Services, and a Bachelor’s of Art’s degree from Notre Dame College in Psychology.

Martina is an advocate for the homeless population. She is the outreach director for Lakeshore Christian Church, were she oversees a feeding program for homeless families. She also developed an alliance in the Northeast Ohio area with other agencies and churches to provide housing for homeless women and their children. She is the President of the board of V.O.I.C.E., a non-profit organization that provides professional development and service opportunities for college interns, as well as youth and family development programming for the community. Furthermore, Martina is a director of the board for the Jordan House a transitional housing program for women addicted to drugs. Martina over the past five years as a board member has written several grants for the Jordan Center that has assisted hundreds of women with receiving transitional housing and treatment at no cost.

Martina is the 2013 doctoral emerging leader for the Association of Humanistic Counselors (AHC). In her year of service to AHC, she founded the Ohio chapter of AHC with a start of approximately 40 members. Under Martina’s leadership, the Ohio chapter has collaborated with the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland in an effort to expand the humanistic mission and values in Ohio.

Martina’s wealth of experience with non-profits, and her commitment to social change and social justice brings value to the Board of SALTworld.
