Dr. Jonathan Procter Bio
Dr. Jonathan Procter currently holds a tenure-track university appointment as an Assistant Professor at Long Island University. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Family Studies from Ohio University, his Master of Science in Behavior Analysis from Swansea University in Wales, and his Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Ohio University.
Dr. Procter is independently licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) within the State of Texas, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in Ohio, and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) within the State of New York. In addition to his licenses, he is certified nationally as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) and has met national professional supervision standards through the center for credentialing and education, which grants him the status as an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS).
His clinical experience has extensively focused on individuals experiencing formidable psychiatric illnesses, and he currently has a private practice in Rockville Centre, NY. In both academia and clinical practice, he remains committed to social change and advocacy efforts locally, nationally, and internationally.
He has assisted in fund raising efforts for various SALTworld projects, and he has traveled to promote service efforts in Turkey, Israel, Tanzania, and Zanzibar
